Life is too brief to live it to the one and only script. So I weave stories, waltzing amongst the diverging paths…
Artist Statement
I perceive the world as a treasure trove where jewels can be a worn-out shoe, a brocade cap of a Venetian doge, or a childhood memory fluttering out of a chest unlocked by music or scent. In this trove lie Van Gogh’s Sunflowers, the gentle smile of an old man from a Ghirlandaio portrait, the purples and blues shining on the gold of Gothic icons, Michelangelo’s Pietà, the endless close-ups in Visconti’s films, and the light of the golden hour when reality melts into liquid copper. From these treasures, like pieces of a colorful mosaic, I assemble my stories, glimpsed on the road or seen in a dream.
I am an artist and photographer, practicing painting, graphic art, and the blending of various techniques, rarely favoring a single style because no single tool alone seems sufficient to express my vision.
Long exposures, flashes, light painting, Chinese ink, tempera, metaphors, post-modern irony, light, darkness— all are merged into one cauldron in an attempt to bring the image closer to the imprint that arises in my imagination. In the eternal pursuit of the “precise” visual language, I weave my stories, so different at first glance, each one an attempt to approach the perfect frame.
